President's Message

We are pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2010, we have established interesse club, an international marriage-consulting agency.

It has been 14 years since I founded interesse international inc., an employment agency that provides human resources and recruiting services. One of the reasons I started the staffing and placement agency in New York City was to make a positive contribution to society by helping people, working in a global environment, make wise career choices. While the agency business is currently operating mainly in the USA, and between the USA and Japan and the USA and Europe, I always dream of expanding the business around the entire world.

With this background, when several registered members of interesse international inc. asked if interesse might use our job matching skills to find marriage partners, I became interested in the possibility of starting an international marriage-consulting agency. In addition, corporate managers of our business partners would ask if we could try to find a spouse for their employees.

At the beginning, I did not feel that the marriage consulting agency business would be good for interesse as it is very different from the employment agency business. After all, U.S. employment and labor laws strictly prohibit employment agencies from discriminating on the basis of gender, age, nationality and race. The marriage consulting business is on the opposite side of the employment agency business. I did not want the two businesses to compete.

However, since we received a large number of requests for the marriage service from all over the USA, and remembering that my original purpose for starting the employment agency (that of providing a positive contribution to society by helping to make a best job match for those who need it) could also be applied for the marriage consulting business, I determined to break into this business.

One of the first things I needed to do was to have the name "interesse" reviewed again, as the name "interesse" represents my business creed -- to be involved in international business throughout my life.

[interesse] is derived from Latin. The first part of the word [inter] means "between" in English, and [esse] stands for "being" and also denotes people coming together with common interest, concern, or subject. In summary, interesse means "interest, concern, subject" between people.

So I again decided that "interesse" should be used in the name for the new company, as it represents a subject (marriage) and provides a bridge between people for them to come together.

Now I started looking over interesse’s staff with this new project in mind, and I found:

  • Experienced and knowledgeable staff with expertise in all aspects of recruitment, including that of matching people to new jobs.
  • Staff with common sense as a member of society and a global point of view.
  • Staff who have put down roots within local communities in the USA and have experience with international marriages and parenting.
  • Bilingual staff (Japanese and English mainly).

I knew that their experiences, knowledge and skills would be beneficial in starting and sustaining a marriage consulting business.

As I mentioned earlier, employment agency business and marriage agency business do not seem to go together from a legal point-of-view in the USA. But I believe that the incompatibility between those business operations will not be a major issue if you take a look at both projects more broadly, with a global view. Rather, I believe that experience, knowledge, high-quality consultant services, and interesse’s network from multi-location offices will enable our staff to find the best matches and provide advice based on member’s interests and preferences.

Carefulness is important in establishing a new business.

We have confidence that we will make a highly reputable international marriage consulting agency using the same expertise that interesse has earned as staffing and placement professionals.

A team of employees with great spirit has been working on this project for more than a year now and have come up with many new business ideas to launch “interesse club” as a marriage-consulting agency.

In 1984, if I remember correctly, Ms. Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of The United Kingdom, at that time visited Japan and included the following thought in her commemorative speech.

The family is the smallest unit of society. The healthy society is one founded on the healthy family. Family life is the bedrock on which the healthy society must be built.

This is also what my late grandmother, who passed away in 1999 at the age of 99, had always said.

Interesse Club will support you as you move towards marriage, a significant event in your life and one that will provide much happiness as you build a family.
